Guild Rules

YippieKaiYay Code of Conduct

YippieKaiYay officers understand that WoW is how you spend your free time and that you don't want the fun of the game to be spoiled by an inordinate amount of rules. By showing common sense, respect, and treating others as you would want to be treated, every member should enjoy their YippieKaiYay experience.

That being said, here are a few guidelines we ask that you follow as a member of YippieKaiYay:

• Please respect your fellow members. Do not verbally or otherwise attack any member in game, in Ventrillo, or on the forums. We understand that some people are very passionate in their views and opinions, and sometimes debates and discussions can become heated. We ask that you keep comments, criticism, opinions, etc at a respectable level in our community areas. If you feel the need to "take it up a notch", please do so privately.

• Issues and complaints. If you have an issue or a complaint, please give guild leaders a chance to help you resolve it. This means you should not head straight to the forums and post a rant about it, or bring it to public attention before discussing it with an officer.

• Cheating, Hacking, Exploiting. We do not condone any of these. If you happen to find an exploit, etc, please bring it to the attention of the GM or an officer so that it may be reported to the proper channels.

• Forum Warriors. Please keep public forum "warrior" activities to a minimum. Granted, there may be times when something derogatory may be posted about the YippieKaiYay guild or one of its members. Feel free to defend yourself and/or the guild, but we ask that you do so in a mature and rational fashion and while doing so, keep in mind that many posts are made with the intent of solicitating a reaction (and sometimes the best response is not to respond at all). The Nagrand Realm Forum in particular is a popular forum for players from our server and poor behavior there by any guild member will reflect poorly on YippieKaiYay as a whole.

• Trade / General chat channels. As above, how you conduct yourself on these public channels reflects on the guild as a whole.

• Maintaining the guild's reputation. Each of you wear the YippieKaiYay tag over your head and in return for this we ask that you represent the guild appropriately in game. Harrassment or griefing of other players, begging, ninjaing loot or undermining the guild's reputation in any other way will not be tolerated. YippieKaiYay members should be admired for their friendliness and professionalism in all aspects of the game.

• The best way for us to communicate with guild members is via our guild website forum. Every member is expected to check the forum for new posts each day or so.

Disciplinary Action

The guild never wants to have to punish or remove any of its members. However, if a situation warrants it, officers will react in order to preserve the core values that our guild were founded upon.

If a member violates the guild code of conduct they will be subject to the following actions:

(1) A warning will be given along with instructions for how the member must rectify the situation.

(2) A probationary period may be enacted in which Raiding, Forum and Ventrillo rights will be revoked for one week.

(3) Members of the Inner Council ("Quick-Draw" rank and above) will be asked to vote on whether the member should be removed.

(4) Any second offence will be dealt with directly by officers without asking for an Inner Council vote.

We hope that we never have to use our disciplinary policy, and even more so, we hope we never have to remove a member from our ranks. However, it is very important to us that we keep quality members and a quality atmosphere, and we will protect those ideals if forced to.

Guild Government

Two separate bodies will run our guild: the Members and the Inner Council. The Inner Council are members of "Quick-Draw" rank or above and represent either those who are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the guild and/or the guild's founding members. These people will be in charge of our forums, our web page, monitoring our members, and making the small decisions that are necessary for any guild to function properly. The Inner Council are representatives, existing to assist and govern the guild without having to bog members down with every small decision that need be made.

Our Members will be given the responsibility of making the big decisions. This will be done through a guild-wide voting process. Any time a major issue comes up, a guild-wide vote will be held. The majority will rule the decision and we will carry on. This method is to ensure that all members of our guild feel like they have a voice and feel like they too get to govern the guild they are part of.

Guidelines for our Inner Council (IC)

• If more than one IC members believes an issue should go to a guild-wide vote, it will do so.

• Becoming part of the IC is by vote and nomination of the current Inner Council.

• Representatives in the IC are removed from office by nomination and resolution of Guild-Wide votes.

• IC members are here to represent the wishes and interest of the guild as a whole.

Remember, it is important to our guild that you be able to speak your opinion freely. As such, your voice will be heard on all major issues pertaining to our guild.

Recruitment Policy

Our recruitment policy is designed to ensure that we get the best quality players and that our current members are happy with our new recruits.

All recruits will be given a two week trial period as "Tenderfoot" before they are promoted to member "Cowboy" status. During this trial period, recruits are expected to seek out our members and get to know them.

Before the two week period elapses our members will be asked to vote on whether they want a recruit to become a full member of YippieKaiYay or not.

Also during this two week period, a voting poll will be maintained for every recruit. This poll allows all of our members to vote on if they want a recruit to join our ranks. All members will vote on a ballot that looks similar to this:

Voting Options will be:

• Yes
• No
• I Abstain

If a recruit attracts more than 25% "no" votes, he will be removed from the guild when the two week period expires.

A large number of "I Abstain" votes will raise the concern that the new member does not make an effort to interact with the guild, either in guild chat or through group activities, instances or raids. Where this is the case the IC will make the decision of whether or not the member should have their "Tenderfoot" status extended.
